Software Licensing Details ExamWeb offers both hosted and an installable solution, depending on your needs.
Hosted (ASP): ExamWeb's servers had delivered over 1 million exams with complete reliability. Our system is set up to host and deliver your assessments 24/7 as well as to retain and back-up your usage data. Clients are given full access to an online administration area which pulls usage information from the server as well as editing access to change items, add/remove users and create new assessments.
Installed: ExamWeb's installed version allows you to install and host the software on your own servers. Requirements include Microsoft's SQL Server 2000 database and a web server. Several different application environments are supported.
Clients license the use of ExamWeb's assessment engine for a variety of reasons. They might test employees on their retention of knowledge after a training program or on their level of knowledge prior to starting a training program. They might use ExamWeb to deliver internal or external certification exams or even offer preparation for exams. Publishers and educators find that ExamWeb can be used to aid instructors in assessing the knowledge of their students. Custom Configuration at an Out-of-the-box Price While ExamWeb has built a full featured online exam engine, we realize that flexibility is often needed in delivering assessments. With ExamWeb you won't be stuck with a set of features, functions, or configurations that you don't need or use. Instead, we meet with each client to determine their testing goals and needs. Then, we configure our system to meet those needs precisely and brand it in your corporate style. Since the testing features are already built, we simply activate the features you'll and turn off those that you don't. The result is the ideal testing system delivered at an "out-of-the-box" price.
Our Fee Structure ExamWeb takes great pride in its flexibility regarding fee structure. We understand that different organizations prefer different structures and have been flexible in meeting differing needs. In general, ExamWeb charges a one time set-up fee and then a per user fee. Other fees such as custom programming additions, support and e-commerce fees are detailed below.
Set-up Fees / Initial License Fee ExamWeb's Assessment Server™ is a full featured exam creation, delivery and reporting tool that has just about everything you'd expect in a testing software program. Invariably however, we run across clients who have a unique need that requires some custom programming in the set-up process. Our initial set-up / license fee is strictly determined upon the time needed to configure the software to meet your precise needs and can vary. Those adopting the system with no custom changes will experience a very low cost set-up. The set-up fee includes:
Branding the system in your corporate style
Simple removal or additions of features that we determine you will need or not need
Can include integration (registration, reporting, etc.) with other learning systems (LMS, CMS, etc.)
Can include integration with an e-commerce system (i.e. for consumer product uses)

Per-user Fee In addition to the one-time set-up fee, ExamWeb charges a per-user fee. This fee covers access for one user account for one year (or exam cycle). Users can take an unlimited amount of exams at no additional charge. There can be an unlimited number of tests in the system, an unlimited amount of questions in the database, and an unlimited numbers of exams can be served. The per-user fee ranges depending on expected amount of users. There are no per-user fees for admin users - you can have an unlimited number of admin accounts. Custom Programming As your testing needs may change, ExamWeb is happy to add requested functionality from time to time at an hourly rate.
Support ExamWeb includes unlimited support to admin users (in most cases) at no charge. Usually the client provides support to the end user. You'll find the system to be extremely intuitive for both the admin user and the test taker, thus support inquiries tend to be rare. End user direct support is also available for a monthly fee, depending on volume of users.
Monthly Hosting Fees (hosted solution) None. All hosting related fees are included in the per-user fee. Exceptions may apply for lowest volume clients.
